Many myths and scandals surround the legendary ‘Beck’s Pistols” and the lasting mark they have left on German punk history—from their wild concerts to their forced name change to ‘Pöbel & Gesocks” later on, thanks to a German brewery. Frontman Willi Wucher became a cult icon with his brutal vocals and excessive stage performances. Their raw punk style—completely free of any pretensions or etiquette—and their snotty, anti-social demeanor essentially created a subgenre of their own: ‘Oi-Punk (Pervers).” From then on, everyone knew what ‘punk from the Ruhr region” was supposed to sound like. ‘Pöbel & Gesocks Oi!oi!oi!” became their battle cry, and ‘Fuck, drink, don’t go to work” must have driven more than a few parents up the wall. Decades later, the Beck’s Pistols have now performed another concert at Berlin’s venerable SO36, playing their entire discography. The result of this memorable evening was recorded live and perfectly mixed and authentically mastered by OKI (Heartbreak Engines). Compared to the old studio recordings, the Beck’s Pistols songs have actually never sounded as good as they do here. ‘Beck’s Pistols Live 2025 Berlin SO36” is being released as a strictly limited-edition double 10-inch MLP, with a total of 500 copies on black and colored splatter vinyl.
